all in a day's work

where have i been hiding today? well....shhhh....i've been working on a secret project while the girls are gone for spring break. (hopefully they won't be checking the blog - keeping fingers crossed).
yesterday i picked up the rest of the supplies i needed and today i started and completed this:

yes, i decided to paint the girls bathroom. i had picked up some towels, washcloths and a bath mat @ target a few weeks ago - all in the pinks/greens combo. (along with some of the green washcloths having white polka dots...can you see them in the little wheelbarrow thingy on the bathroom sink....i LOVE polka dots). then i proceeded to buy "spiny sea urchin" green paint yesterday - which is more like a dr. suess green to me.  very similar to the pantone color "dark citron" i shared with you a few posts back:

and voila....i went from drab to fab all in a day's work.  j doesn't even know what he's coming home to....shhhh....and okay...let me just say, i threw the green vase on the back of the toilet for some added "pizzazz" - just for the pictures. it's not really practical for kids...& it's actually not balanced with the flowers hanging on the wall...so here's what the end project REALLY looks like in the real world. (better).

it's fresh and new and this was just the right project for me today. i've been itching to do "something" and this was something i could start and finish in one day. THAT...is success. (plus....i started another project involving some chalkboard paint - inspired by rhonna's post the other day).  i'll share that once it's complete. (and oops...didn't take before photos of that). o well. here's hoping we ALL had a productive wednesday!!
