8 days to a GiVeAwAy!

Monday, January 18

i'm eight days away from my "blogoversary"...
yes people.
i've been blogging for almost 1 year.
it just seems like yesterday i was biting my nails as i was pushing the "publish post" button for the first time...
now.
i realize that's just a drop in the pail compared to some of you...
but it's definitely something worth celebrating...
don't you think?

so.
here's the announcement i've been promising to make...

i've decided to do my first "giveaway" here on the blog.
yep.
a giveaway that requires a little something from my readers...
not a whole lot.
just a little bit of effort. *wink*
but wait.
what IS the giveaway?

remember this?
from this post...???

i've had SUCH positive feedback on this creation...
i've decided to give one away to one of my blog readers...
that's right!
the winner of this gem will receive an archival-quality print mailed directly from ME to YOU!
BUT WAIT...
it gets even better...
for only $19.99...
JUST KIDDING.....
(it was beginning to sound like one of those commercials...)

anyway.....

the winner gets the option to CUSTOMIZE their print:
- choose your background color.
- choose your font color.
- choose your own "words to live by" OR use the ones i've already created.
- choose either a 10x10 or an 8x10 print...for easier framing.

OR...just keep the print "as-is"...
the winner gets to decide.

can't visualize a different background or font color?
here's some help...
just to get you pumped up and excited...

how about a PINK print in an 8x10?

or how about a white font instead of the black?

so...
what do YOU need to do to have one of these lovelies gracing a wall in your home?

1. leave a comment here & tell me where you'd display it in your home. (only one entry per reader please...*wink*)
2. your comment MUST also include your favorite word from the current print or one you'd like to see added...
3. have your friends leave a comment too...but make sure they reference your name...

why have your friends enter to win & potentially sabotage your own chances of winning?
hold onto your seats...
i'll be giving away yet ANOTHER free print to the person who sends the most friends over to enter the giveaway...

that's all it takes.
the contest ends midnight..January 26th...my "blogoversary"...of course. *wink*
i'll be using random.org to select the first winner.
the 2nd winner will obviously be tallied by the number of friends you send over...

good luck to you all...
thank you soooo much in advance for your excitement & participation...
8 days and counting...

hugs...
& happy monday...

I have been looking @ your blog for a few months now- I bookmarked your "french party" post. I LOVE it & hope to use some of your ideas for my little one soon. I pick the word "consistent"... I want to teach my kiddos to ALWAYS be consistent in EVERYTHING that they do; their love, their hope, their giving, their patience, their forgiveness, their kindness, their respect, their trust... I guess I couldn't just pick one! Be blessed!!

This print is awesome! Such a great reminder every day! I think I would post it in my entryway, and my favorite word is thankful. I try to be thankful every day for the things that I have, and my children, and husband. Even when they drive me nuts!

Love your new project and giveaway Jess! My favorite word is hopeful. I am always hopeful and a friend of mine that you met at the shower, Carol, and I always talk about being hopeful in life. I would display the piece close to a mirror we all look into everyday so you could see the words either straight on or reflected. Thanks for such wonderful things you share with so many!

I found your blog through "Sweetopia" and I have become addicted to both...I wish I had half of the talent and creativity you two ladies have!! You have given me many ideas for my "Gotta Try That" list!!
My husband's friend and his 3-year old daughter have been living with us for the past year...I would display this print in her play area and give it to her as a gift when they move into their own house in a few months. My favorite word is "considerate" because you never know when your small action may make someone's day, week, or month! :o)

I can't remember now how I first stumbled upon your blog, but I've been so thankful that I did!

I can see this lovely print displayed in our family's kitchen nook. The word "adventurous" would have to be my favorite. With my husband being a medical resident, we've lived in three cities in the past 2 years and added a sweet baby girl in the middle of the moving madness. I love the "adventurous" life we've embraced and am excited to see what adventures still await! :)

This is a beautiful portrayal, Jess, and I thank my dear friend, Renee, for sharing the link to this site.

I would add the word "humility" as it encompasses all the words listed. To me, humility brings to mind the modest attributes in each of these words and describes those assets that I look for in my friends who make my life a treasure-trove of happiness.

My family room is where I would display this wonderfully-crafted piece as my family room is where all my family and friends experience the warmth and comfort of all things good and true.

Jess, this is truly a very nice portrait of life! Renee, thank you for sharing one of life's treasures with me.

Question: What on earth gets you up, day after day, before 5:00??? And functioning enough to blog???

Maybe that is why I'm not creative... I sleep through the creative hours of the day!! :-)

Unknown said...

Alison -
i'm laughing at your inquiry about what possesses me to get up so early...

the motivation behind it is totally selfish.
it's the ONLY time i have all to myself.
i figure if i get up around 4:30 i have a good hour and a 1/2 to do things i really want to do.

it all was jump started by the 21 challenge i participated in a few months back. i wanted to carve out time for myself and this was really the only logical block of time. (i can't muster up the energy to stay up late...so instead...i start my day off right by getting up early. REALLY early i guess! crazy...i know. but sooo worth it!

want to know something even crazier?
i don't set an alarm clock - i somehow manage to wake up around 4:30 every day on my own...for some reason?
