HOLIDAYS | 4th of July Watermelon Centerpiece

Thursday, July 4

Happy Birthday America!!

I hope you enjoy your 4th of July barbecues and celebrations!

I used the NEW Pretty Party Skewers to create the festive fruit kabob centerpiece
for our Neighborhood Bike Parade this past Saturday.
I absolutely love that the party skewers are recyclable!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

What an AMAZING centerpiece!!! Love it. Did you scoop out the inside??

Hi Laura! Thanks so much for being here and inquiring about the centerpiece. I did NOT scoop out the inside - although you certainly could. My original thought was to use 1/2 of the watermelon for the making fruit kabobs, use the other "unscooped out" 1/2 for displaying the centerpiece and then bring home the centerpiece base for me cut up later for my family to enjoy. HOWEVER - the watermelon ended up being subpar so I didn't want to serve it to my neighbors (or to my family). Bummer!

You could absolutely cut out the center of the watermelon prior to using the skewers though. The rind is thick enough to where you don't need to be concerned about poking the skewers all the way through.

I hope you'll try out the idea!!
