{lemonade & sunshine party} preparations part II

Wednesday, June 16

the candy...

this is the candy i've collected along the way...
i thought it was important for me to share my finds -
especially for any of you out there inspired to host your own baby shower, wedding shower or birthday party using this theme/color scheme.

back row - left to right:
crystal light lemonade & pink lemonade candy
fruit slices candy (came in a bag of assorted flavors - i just picked out the lemons)
front row - left to right:
pink lemonade flavored double bubble gum (again, came in a bag of assorted flavors)

i used the lemon drops to fill these...

& the crystal light candies were used to make these...

i'm playing around with flower arrangements today too...

turns out my yellow roses don't look like they'll pull through for me in time for the party saturday. MAN!!
remember the "expect the unexpected" from my "life is like party planning" post?
well this is a PERFECT example of that.
i've had PLENTY of blooms for weeks now.
i realized sunday the blooms were beginning to become sparse.
i think it's because of the ravenous heat we've had lately?
not sure.
i'm no flower expert.
after going to a local florist to discuss my "back up" options...
(and holy cow...1 peony stem is $18)...
i went to lowe's on monday and got some advice.
i came home and fertilized monday evening and have been clipping religiously.
i was trying to save money by using my own beautiful flowers.
i think i'm okay on having plenty of my own "pink" flowers...
but i went ahead and ordered yellow freesia from the florist. darn.

lots to do today...
baking...
banner making...
and regular life! *wink*

how about you?

This party is bound to be spectacular, despite your yellow roses not coming through for you. I am so excited to see pics from the actual party - this Saturday, right?

So cute...yes I'm inspired and want to have a Pink and Yellow "something"! May I ask about the cute little jars of Lemon Drops? Where did you find the jars?

Love the pink and yellow candies and your candy jars. What a bummer about your yellow flowers! I can't wait to see all the details come together in the final party!

Jess thanks for responding! The jars are so cute. Would not have guessed they were "recycled". My Lemon Coolers were not that tasty. Would love to have your recipe. When I tried the link it said the page was not available. Thanks for all your inspiration.
