STYLING | Neutral + Natural Gift Wrapping Ideas

Tuesday, December 3

I've got 4 gifts wrapped and under the tree my friends!
That's a feat for me with it only being the third day of December.

Admittedly, I'm usually wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve...always with regret for not doing it sooner so I could enjoy all of the pretty details for more than 8-10 hours.

I promised myself to break that unintentional tradition this year and so far so good.

Along with my rolls of Kraft paper and some fresh eucalyptus, I put together a tray of pretty ribbons, tags, strings, twine, yarn, dried oranges, scissors and tape. Having the supplies gathered together makes it really easy, and convenient, to quickly wrap additional gifts leading up to Christmas.

My gift wrapping usually always starts with either brown kraft or white wrapping paper.
I like to keep it pretty neutral to allow the pretty ribbons, fabrics, greenery and tags to be the stars of the "gift wrapping show". I'm using dried oranges again from last year's Christmas decor and gift wrapping. I love them.

TIP: I also love spritzing the dried oranges with orange and clove essential oils. Makes them deliciously fragrant and adds another special element to the gift giving experience.

This year, my gifts will be adorned with an extra special detail...
...these beautiful "fa-la-la-la-la" gift tags hand-lettered by my sweet friend Aedriel.
She collaborated with Sugar Paper LA to create some gorgeous holiday pretties for Target.
These tags are even more gorgeous in real life because the card stock is nice and thick and
the finish of the lettering mimics letterpress. I'm completely smitten.

This neutral style of gift wrapping reaches far beyond Christmas too.
The combination of cotton lace, sheer ribbon and fresh eucalyptus makes it versatile enough for a wedding birthday, or any other special occasion gift.

I'll leave you to soak in the rest of the gift wrapping details.
Look for the resource list at the bottom to find some of the pretties I'm using this year.

I love gift wrapping.
If you aren't excited about it, I hope this inspires you.
Adding some fresh, natural elements to your gift wrapping is easy, beautiful and fun!
And the receiver will adore and appreciate the extra effort.

Love you guys!!

KEEPING IT REAL
Don't leave your dried oranges out if you have animals.
I caught my dog, Hamilton, devouring the oranges right off the packages.
But he's 18 years old...so maybe your pets won't be intrigued in the least. *wink*

As if I didn't already have an entire list of cute things I want to make for the holidays...
my list just got even longer after the Pinterest Party last night.
Maybe I should number the projects and do a raffle type drawing to determine which ones should get done? Ha!

STYLiNG | Changing things up...

Monday, November 26

Thanksgiving has officially come and gone.
As much as I thoroughly enjoyed spending the holiday with family...
feasting on good food...
and savoring our time together...

I'm officially ready for the Christmas holidays!
I'm not sure why, but I'm genuinely ready to soak in all of the craziness this holiday season brings.
Tree decorating...
Simmering Holiday Potpourri...
Cookie Baking...
Gift Wrapping...
Attending Parades...
Christmas movies...
Fires in the fireplace...(yes, even here in Florida).
and Carols playing in the background the entire time!

After years and years of the same Christmas tree decor...
I'm finally "branching" out and changing it up this year.
I decided on a completely non-traditional color scheme...
and I've been a busy little bee creating some homemade decorations.

I'll be sharing the DIY's for the homemade tassels and pom poms I've been making.
They are so adorable and super fun (and easy) to make!

Not only would I  love to know what you are doing to get yourself in the Holiday Spirit...
but I'd love to know what your Holiday color scheme is!

NOT in the Holiday Spirit at all?
Here are a few simple things you can do to inch your way closer...

The one thing I'm not really looking forward to is family photos.
Not sure why.
Probably because I don't really have a game plan yet.
And I haven't decided on our holiday cards either.
Maybe I should start with the holiday cards...
and THEN determine what to do for the photos. *wink*
