For those of you who've been anxiously awaiting the release of the book by Amy Atlas...
(the one she's been working on behind the scenes for over the past two years)...

Amy revealed the book cover yesterday and shared some insights into what we can expect...
• 352 pages
• 270 never-before-seen photos (including dessert tables)
• 15 chapters
• 100 "eye-popping" recipes
• 75 affordable DIY craft projects

I. Can't. Wait!!!

The book will be on shelves April 24th...
BUT you can....
PRE-ORDER yours NOW via at an amazing discounted price.
I purchased TWO...
one to keep pretty as a "coffee table book"
and the other one to keep in the kitchen.
GREAT idea...right?!
I should probably go back and order another one as a gift too?
What do you think?

Want to know one of the reasons I've been so excited about this book release?
This has been a two-year project for Amy.
She took her time and put her heart into the pages.
It never felt to me that Amy was merely trying to capitalize on her success and large fan base by releasing a book.
She often shared her book journey and the behind-the-scenes with her readers over the past two years.
And guess what...
When Amy mentioned yesterday...
she worked really hard to keep the price point low for all of us...
my suspicions were confirmed! *wink*
Thank you for always being so genuine Amy!
I couldn't be more thrilled for you!!
I can't WAiT to get lost in the pages...

"She's About to POP" baby shower - all of the details

Still reveling in the double feature from Amy Atlas Events on Friday.

In case you missed it, Amy featured both of the baby showers I helped put together last month...
The showers I've been itching to share details from.
And now that her posts are officially up...
I've got the green light to post all of the details!!

Today will be all about the "Bubbles" themed baby shower hosted on November 6th...

Bre approached me with the idea of hosting a "She's going to POP" baby shower for her childhood best friend, Jen.
She wanted the shower to be unique/original and something Jen would never forget.
After some research online I came to the realization that the theme wasn't as unique as we had thought.
So...taking the creativity to an entirely new level - I suggested tying everything in with bubbles -
something I hadn't seen done yet and would still allow us to keep with the theme she was hoping for.

The pressure was on for a decadent dessert table after Bre shared with me the fact that Jen was a former finalist on the "Next Food Network Star"...*gasp*
Luckily for me, Jen's "food forte" is more savory than sweet - so the pressure was off just a teeny...tiny...bit. *wink*

As with all events, the invitation would be the foundation for a fabulous party/shower and would set the stage for the design and decorating elements to be used throughout.

Using Pantone's Fall Fashion report, I selected a color scheme and the invitation was born...
I love how simple and edgy it turned out - don't you?
(More on those fabulous lollipops in a minute)...

With "POP" and bubbles being the focus, I quickly began gathering ideas for the dessert table - my primary focus.

For the background, I used a piece of white v-groove paneling from Lowe's and added some coordinating paper
and clear plastic plates in various sizes to mimic the bubbles on the invitation.

I chose to use clear serving vessels to display the desserts
in order to keep with the "translucency" of the bubble theme...
This tower of jello custard POP shots took center stage...

I knew immediately we needed to use some really cool lollipops and I was lucky to stumble upon
Vintage Confections. Not only did she make fabulous color coordinating 2" lollipops...
she also catered to my request to have the lollipops flavored with soda POP...
just another small detail I was in love with to help tie everything together.
Not only were the lollipops used as favors, they were also used to create lollipop tree centerpieces.

(I cannot take credit for assembling the trees - I sent Bre a link of the lollipop trees from Amy Atlas and she recreated the trees all on her own)! Love them!

Since I knew I wanted something translucent on the top of the cupcakes - to mimic bubbles...
I had Vintage Confections create some coordinating candy droplets for the mini bubble cupcake pops...
The colors couldn't have been more perfect and the droplets were yummy!

Other food items included this Strawberry Salad with POPPY seed dressing...

A bubble machine located just outside the front door greeted guests as they arrived. (not pictured)
I love how everything turned out...

I know Jen was beside herself with excitement and here's what Bre had to say when it was over:
"I wanted to email you and let you know how amazing the shower was. You are so freakin' talented
I can't stand it. Thank you for your time and sacrifice! It was more than I expected. Amazing up to every detail Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

It really was such a fun shower to be a part of - thanks for letting me spread my creative wings on this Bre!!
It was so fun putting it all together...

And a HUGE thank you to Amy Atlas for featuring it on her blog Friday!
What an honor and privilege to share the spotlight in Amy's "Guest Dessert Feature"
with so many other creative & talented people.

And I especially want to thank all of you for patiently awaiting the details...I hope you are inspired!
